Ukrainian singer Jamala speaks after being crowned the 2016 Eurovision song contest winner in Stockholm on Saturday. Her ballad 1944, evoked the deportation of Crimean Tatars by Josef Stalin and has been interpreted as a criticism of Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014. Jamala is herself a Crimean Tatar and has not been home since the annexation of the peninsula
