Dew to the mass searches by the security forces in Bakhchisarai and the Bakhchisarai region on March 11, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova calls on the UN mission to go to Crimea.

“I urge representatives of the UN monitoring mission on human rights to make a trip into the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea in order to verify compliance with the rights and conditions of detention of illegally detained citizens of Ukraine,” Denisova wrote on Facebook.

She also appealed to the Russian Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova to “check the grounds for the detention of Ukrainian citizens”, and also to “secure the right to a defence and a fair trial”.
